What is a Created Diamond?
Created diamonds are diamonds that are grown under laboratory conditions. These laboratories simulate the environment beneath the earth’s surface when diamonds form, using similar temperature and pressure conditions. Carbon, in the form of graphite, is present.

Created diamonds have the same physical, chemical, and optical properties as mined diamonds. Both are grown within a matter of days; however, mined diamonds take millions of years to be found and extracted from the earth. The rough Created diamond undergoes the same processes of cutting and polishing as a mined diamond.

Are Created Diamonds real diamonds?
Yes. They share the exact same chemical, physical, and optical properties as earth-grown diamonds. Created diamonds, like those produced hundreds of kilometers below the earth’s surface, have unequaled hardness, fire, brilliance, and scintillation. The only difference between Created diamonds and earth-grown diamonds is where they are grown.

Created, lab-grown, lab-created?
These terms are all synonyms for one another. Each term is considered correct terminology for laboratory-grown diamonds; they all indicate that the diamond has been grown in a laboratory under prepared temperature and pressure conditions.

Created or synthetic?
Created. Created diamonds and synthetic diamonds are not the same, and it is important to understand the difference.
The term "synthetic" refers to something resulting from synthesis or made by chemical synthesis. "Synthesis" refers to a combination of components to form a connected whole or the production of chemical compounds by reaction from simpler materials.

When growing Created diamonds, no synthesis takes place; there is no combination or reaction between different materials. Diamonds are composed of pure carbon. Referring to a laboratory-grown diamond as "synthetic" is both misleading and factually incorrect. Created diamonds are grown in a prepared medium of temperature and pressure, mimicking natural diamond growth.
